New to poker tracker

Hi. I've been playing poker for a good few years but decided to try this tool out since I am experiencing the biggest downswing of my life at this point. Anyway I have a few noivcey questions.

How come every player seems to be losing on my tracker? Even the guys who SS say are winning? Trying to compare my stats to the winning players but can't find any. I play turbo sit n goes. Over my losing period my BB graphs show an expected win of 1380 and an actual win of 583. Will that be the reason I am losing heavily? I purchased this tool to try and find and iron out leaks but not sure how to make the best use of it.

Will appreciate it if someone can shed some light for me.

Depending on what site you play results information may well be incomplete for your opponents. The difference between expectation and actual results may be a part of it but I'm certain there's more to learn (there's always more to learn!), but if you're just getting into PokerTracker you might want to start with our free PT4 beta - you can get a copy here. Specifically as a tournament user, it has an ICM calculator built in so you can analyze your push/fold decisions, and you can even take an ICM quiz to see whether your intuition in certain spots is good or bad.

Thx for your reply. After further evalation it appears I have been deserved to lose at the highest stake but not so on the others which means I do have something to learn. I am currently importing hands into PT 4. The stats don't seem to be updating as hands are being importing like they were in PT3. Is that normal? I will try that quiz out too thanks.

They should be updating after every hand as you play in PT4 - what site are you playing at?

I play at pokerstars but I'm not actually playing now. I'm trying to import all my hands from the last month. It says 45k are imported up to now but can't see any stats on players.

Go to the View Stats page, make sure you are looking at tournaments (T rather than $) and that will most likely explain why you weren't seeing stats.

Mind = blown at some of these icm answers. Fold QQ with the shortest stack of 700 with 100/200 blinds 7 left and 5 paid.

One more question if you would kind enough to answer. Once the hands are imported can I delete the HH from original folder? I don't want PT ot run whilst I'm playing. Would rather do a large import once a month.

We do not recommend deleting hand history files, but you should move them away from the original HH folder to archive them.
Once they are imported PokerTracker doesn't use them anymore but they can be useful in the future should you ever need to reimport. If you compress them they don't take up much space, should that be a consideration for you.
