PT3 not loading

I just installed pt3.00.3. It will not load. The trial window shows up (33 days left), I wait, then
the splash screen shows, and there it hangs. For over 10 minutes now.
In Task Manager I see 2 PT processes. One using 1,456 K mem, 0 CPU the other using 22,236K mem (this has grown from 18,xxx K) CPU is usually 0 but every once in a while goes to 6%.
Looking at the network connections I see it is connected to the database server (which is up and running) and to res.poker-fw01.inetu.net via SSL.
I am running Win XP, SP2 with all security patches. The firewall (Keiro) is set to allow PT all access. The machine is a Q9300 Core Duo Quad with 4GB of memory.
I did not have a problem with PT3.00.b17.
OK, just now, PT3 came up. it took over 15 minutes.
3 questions:
1) why did it take so long?
2) will it continue to take this long?
3) what is res.poker-fw01.inetu.net and why does PT3 connect to it?

Please
enable logging, reproduce the problem and submit your PokerTracker.log file to the
Support system , and link to this thread in the reference field of the ticket so that we can investigate.

I am having the exact same problem, and its very frusterating...
how are we supposed to enable logging when the program wont even open??
This doesn't have to do with any of my computers settings as the old version and Holdem Manager were and are working fine.

The 'enable logging' link explains how to enable logging without starting PT3.
You may also want to try temporarily disabling your antivirus and/or firewall software and see if that makes any difference.

Bacially I have spent the last 20minutes trying to manually create the log file, have downloaded programs to read C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\Data\Config\PokerTracker.cfg so I can edit it and its just not working. I am frusterated and extremely tilted by this and don't want more instructions on how to manually create the log. As a paying customer I want PT3 admin to get to the bottom of this and I want them to make it a priority! This isn't a stupid HUD problem! I can't even open the freaking program and am not the only one with this problem.
It has nothing to do with security of firewall settings as I havn't touched them since updating PT3, before the update it worked fine right after the update it didn't. I also run Holdem Manager which is running fine. This has got to be on you end.
Also my OS is Vista, but since OP stated he runs XP I don't this this is a Vista problem.
Also I did notice in Task Manager that while trying to open my cpu usuage was a 50% which is odd as I was running no other programs and have a one month old core2 duo prosessor with plenty of ram.
When a solution to this problem is found I would greatly appreciate if PT3 admin would follow up by posting the solution in this thread, as this is where I will look over the next few days.

One more thing..
Beta 18 was released on Sept 23 and build 3 was released on the 29th, I can't remember if I installed beta 18 in that seven day window prior to installing build 3. Could skipping beta 18, ie going from beta 17 to build 3 have anything to do with this problem.
Also can I go and install beta 18 now and use it until the build 3 problem is sorted out? or will that just fuck more things up?

OK, I will send the log file once PT3 actually loads (5 minutes on the splash screen so far. However you have not answered my 3rd question, namely:
3) what is res.poker-fw01.inetu.net and why does PT3 connect to it?
Until this is answered I have blocked this site in the firewall.

Loading problem solved. It was my fault. I had misconfigured the firewall on the database server.
Question #3 remains.
Thanks

Glad you got it sorted - I don't know what that site is, but I'll try to find out for you.

Can someone explain to me in simple terms how to check if I have misconfigured my firewall on the database server?
I have gone into where you choose which programs get access in my firewall program and it looks like everything PT3 related has full access. What or where else can I check?
