beta 28.4 problem

Postby Lith1um » Mon Jul 06, 2009 4:06 pm

hi, i updated pt3 from beta 28.1 to 28.4 and now when i launch the program it says that it's not able to verify my registration, and asks if i would like to use trial version, and when i enter my registration code it says that it's "unable to communicate with registration server, and to try again later" , however non-upgraded pt3s are working, how can i solve this problem ?

Add an explicit exception for PokerTracker.exe to your firewall and that should fix things for you.

i use only windows integrated firewall, made an exception for pt3, switched it on\off(firewall) - but it doesn't help, the situation is same.

also used a link to file of beta 28.1 from a topic at this section, tried to degrade pt3 to version 28.1 , at the startup it shows 28.1 version, but the problem is still there, it can not connect to server to verfifcate registration ....

Are you running Windows Vista? If so, please make sure that you are properly running PT3 as an administrator by right-clicking the PT3 icon and selecting 'Run as Administrator'. This needs to be done the first time that you install/upgrade PT3 unless if you have User Account Control disabled which I recommend.

Best regards,

Which firewall specifically are you using? There are a few that will not work unless you actually uninstall them (F-Secure is the most notorious of the bunch).

Try disabling the firewall entirely temporarily and see if that makes a difference.
