Messed up my installation - How do I fix?

Postby allbusiness » Thu Mar 13, 2008 2:37 am

Ok, I screwed this up. I installed PT3 and the postgreSQL database and everything seemed fine. I started a manual import of my exisiting hands and noticed thousands of duplicates. So, I stopped the manual import and tried to remove the imported hands to no avail. I ended up uninstalling PT3 and PostgreSQL and tried reinstalling them which was not successful. I got an error message when installing PostgreSQL saying I needed to remove the ini.data file or something like that.

Is a fix possible?

Thanks.

Do you know what version of PostgreSQL you previously had installed?

Are you running Windows Vista? If you are, please see [url=http://www.pokertracker3.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=790d6b]Attn: Vista Users Installing PostgreSQL 8.3[/urld6b].

It was the version of PostgreSQL that PT3 installed. I didn't have PostgreSQL on my computer before. I'm using Windows XP.

Go Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services

Look and double click the service named 'Secondary Logon'.

Make sure that this service is started, if it is not, click the "Start' button. Also make sure that the startup type is 'Automatic'. Apply->OK then try reinstalling...

Thanks, however, I tried unstalling/reinstalling it again and it seemed to have worked this time. I can use PT3 now.

How do I run PT2 concurrently (since PT3 doesn't have the HUD yet)? Do I just launch them both on at the same time? I launched PT3 about an hour after I finished playing and it seems that not all my hands were imported (probably because they were moved to a process folder??)

Thanks again.

Yes, both programs can run concurrently (as long as you are not moving the processed files and instead moving them manually).

You are right, the problem is more than likely that PT2 moved your processed files to whatever directory you have configured in the import window then PT3 was unable to locate these files so hands were missing...

Where is your installation failing and what is the exact error message displayed?
