unable to create post gre sql - poker tracker 3

I have been using poker tracker 3 for a long time, and it stopped working due to the above problem.

The error which comes up is:

Unable to create post gre SQL datablese: pt3_2011_o84532
Reaon unable to log in to database(templaye 1)
Reason server closed the connection unexpectedly
This probably means the server terminated abnormally or before or while processing request

I cannot access or create the database

Only changes to computer i made today was installed explorer 9

I am running a acer laptop with vista and avg security

program has been running a year or more correctly.

any help would be appreciated.

Click Start, type services.msc and hit enter - can you find PostgreSQL in the list that appears?

yes i can find post gresql database 8.3 in the list that appears under start

What happens if you attempt to start it?

It started then i started poker tracker and seems to be working fine.

i restarted poker tracker again and imported hands and seems to be working great.

What caused this??

My best guess is that PT3 wasn't being run as administrator and thus wasn't being allowed to start the process itself. PT3 should be trying but if it doesn't have access and thus can't start the database server, obviously we won't be able to connect to the server then.

how do i check if it is being run as the administrator?

Do you have UAC enabled on your system?
