Reinstalling postgresql probleme

Hello...

I have a problem reinstalling my database.

I made a copy of my folder c:/programesfiles/postsql
and reinstalled my windows and my pocker tracker software.

Now i would like to reinstall my database in my software, how can i do that ?
When i simply copy my : program/files/postgresql .... folder
it does not work...
i don't get my database back.

After you put that folder in place you still need to reinstall the PostgreSQL service. You want to get the same major version number (8.3, 8.4 or 9.0 most likely) - if you tell me which version you need I'll give you a more direct link.

my version is 8.3

My problem is i lost my password for postgresql, because my system as crached.

So now i don't know how to reinstall my database without my password ?

is it possible...

That doesn't matter - after it's installed if you can't connect you can follow this tutorial if you need to - it will remove the need for a password.

For PostgreSQL 8.3, just follow our uninstall/reinstall guide from our documentation page. The latest version of PostgreSQL 8.3 is 8.3.15 and you can find it here. Download it, then just follow the guide.
