backup custom stats

I would like to install a new HUD profile but the installer asks for permission to delete all custom stats and I don't want to lose all my custom stats.
What is the quickest way to backup my stats?
Exporting each individual custom stat is very tedious and I am not sure if exporting my current existing profile will also save the custom stats it uses.
I could also try backing up the StatDefinitionsCustomized.pt4 file but if I install the new HUD profile it will create a new StatDefinitionsCustomized.pt4 file so I won't be able to recover the custom stats from the backed up file without overwriting the new file.

That sounds strange - importing a new Hud profile shouldn't remove any of your custom stats.
Or have you been given a new StatDefinitionsCustomized.pt4 file? Replacing that would remove all of your existing custom stats, as you suggest.

There isn't a way to merge StatDefinitionsCustomized.pt4 files, other than to import custom stats (i.e. export your stats, as you suggest) but importing a Hud profile will import any custom stats it uses.
If you export a profile it will include any custom stats it uses too.

However, before you do anything I'd suggest making a copy of the StatDefinitionsCustomized.pt4 file - or better yet use File > Backup to backup all of your config files (and databases if you choose).
