Hi team,

I recently purchased a new MAC running the latest macOS Sequoia version 15.0.1. Once I downloaded and installed the PT4 macOS version, it failed to detect SQL data base.
Therefore I have installed postgreSQL on the default location - "/Library/PostgreSQL".

Once I re-open PT4, it did not identified the data base and I was not able to progress with the installation.

Could you please share a step by step guidance on how to install PT4 for macOS users? Additionally I am interesting in having the SQL data base in a Volume (External SSD) I have running on my PC. Is it possible?

When installing PostgreSQL it will prompt for where you want the 'data' directory to be stored and you can use an external drive for that however please note that disconnecting it without stopping the PostgreSQL server and ejecting the disk could cause database corruption which might be unrecoverable. Also anything less than a USB 3.0 connection on the drive may not be fast enough to get data to PokerTracker 4.

The PT4 installation does not automatically install PostgreSQL. When I run PT4, it prompts an error message indicating that it cannot connect to the database.

As a result, I manually installed PostgreSQL for OS using the provided link. However, I continue to encounter several errors, as shown in the attachments.

I searched online for PT4 installation guides for Mac and found that PostgreSQL should come bundled with the package, so a manual installation may not be necessary. Could you please provide further guidance on this?

That looks like the manual PostgreSQL installation you performed was completed successfully but PokerTracker 4 is not able to create a new database there due to the error in your first screenshot. That's not an error I've seen before so can you please press/hold the "Alt/Option" key while starting PokerTracker 4 to enable logging and then reproduce that error by trying to create a new database again. When that's done attach your PokerTracker4.log file to a Support Ticket where one of our technicians can follow up with you:

\Users\{Mac Login}\Library\Application Support\PokerTracker 4\Logs\PokerTracker4.log
