Hi!
I just downloaded PT4 on my Mac OS X but once moved the application in the Application folder and I click on CONNECT dialog defaut with the parameters that you point out:
Server: localhost
Port: 5432
Database User: postgres
Password: dbpass
I get the new error screen that says:
Unable to connect to this database. Please check the configuration.
It's a sin .... I did not have any way to configure anything .... I'm not even at the beginning
I can not get out of it despite having looked for solutions on the net but only found something in technical language.
If someone could help me please .......

Ok, go to Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal and run this command and tell me what the output is:
ps auxw | grep -i postgres
