That system really should be plenty powerful for that amount of tables.

Could you please open PT3 with the logging enabled (there's a link from the start menu with logging enabled) and play until you experience this lag, and then submit a bug report? That will help us look into what specifically is causing your lag.

I know there are some performance improvements coming in the pipeline, though I can't say for certain how effective they are yet as they aren't available in alpha testing (hopefully they will be soon, though).

No, even though it might provide some small boost it sounds like you've got enough issues that we should look at them as it stands now regardless. You're welcome to try though and see if it helps.

Those are your database files - do NOT delete them.
How many hands have you imported into your database(s)?

I'M REALLY A COMPUTER NOOB :( .

I used pgAdminIII to backup and restore from there.
In PT3, i have close to 1.17m hands as of today.

Total size of my backup on 8/26/09 (using pgAdminIII) was 491MB (1.15m hands).
Total size in my pg_data folder as of today (new HDD) is 10.1GB with 1.17m hands.

I'm sure something is very wrong, at this rate i'm going, i'll be buying a new HDD every week.

Please please help.

The backup process, if you follow WhiteRider's instructions, compresses the data. The compression works very well because the backup is all text and mostly 1s and 0s (for the true/false database entries), so it doesn't surprise me at all that you can get that level of compression.

live2bet wrote:After more than 30 mins of trying to restore, i got a bunch of pg_retore:xxxxx and finally
"WARNING: errors ignored on restore: 115

Process returned exit code 1."
No exit code 0...
When i click ok, it prompt me if i want to restore again.

What did i do wrong this time?
My backup was store in F drive and i right click pt3_newdb>restore>F:\PT3 BACKUP1.backup.

I lost the screenprint kraada...
Anyway, instead of getting exit code 0, i got exit code 1.
Can't click "Ok" as it brings me the a window asking me if i like to restore again.
I clicked "Cancel" instead.

Execute PT3, everything looks ok, played 30 hands and is importing.
Guess the restore works.

How could i used up 20GB in 2 days?
