What anti-virus software are you using? This is the first I've ever heard about a virus being detected in the PostgreSQL directory.

If it quarantined that file you may need to uninstall and reinstall completely - we have a guide on how to do this on our documentation page.

If the file is quarantined and you cannot restore it, losing that file will likely make the database unstable, and the only fix is to completely uninstall PostgreSQL, delete the data directory, and reinstall then reimport any hands you had imported previously.

Are you also using the Avira software?
I haven't used that myself so I don't know how to prevent it moving files, but that information should be in the help.
If you make sure it is up to date then it shouldn't have any problems.

yes, i am using antivira (newest version)
i uninstalled postgres und downloaded the newest version. 8.4.4.1
i got a message before the download the the security certificate is not from the right company EnterpriseDB. why is that so?
after starting postgresql8441windows.exe i get a new antivir message:
this time it finds trojan TR/Agent.55296.BB :-(
is there any explanation for this strange founds?

As long as you downloaded postgres from www.postgresql.org you can be pretty sure it doesn't have a virus.
When you download the one-click installer it comes from enterprisedb.com so that certificate is OK.
There shouldn't be any problems with that file, so you may want to contact Avira to get their definitions updated.
