unable to connect to database!

unable to connect to database!

after installing the latest version of pt3 on my new laptop, it says "unable to connect to database, please check configuration" when i try to connect.

can anyone help?

Is PostgreSQL installed on the machine? Was it installed by PT3 or by other software?

yes its installed and i think it was installed with holdem manager

Then use the password postgrespass along with the other defaults and it should work.

i have already tried it along with others that i found on here and also tried disabling the password to no avail.

Is PostgreSQL running? Click Start --> Run type in services.msc and hit enter. Look for the postgres service in the list and see if it is started - if not, can you start it?

no, it wont start. it says - "could not start the psotgresql server 8.4 service on local computer.error 1069 : the service did not start due to logon failure."

Did you remove the postgres user or otherwise change the password for that user?

not that i can remember but it was a while ago when i first had trouble with it and have since had the HEM free trial.

I don't know everything that they do to PostgreSQL - we have had problems with their modifications in the past. Have you tried contacting their support since the problems began then?
