You can have it open but you can't have PT3 connected to the database you're trying to restore until the restore is complete. 2 hours for vacuum/analyze of 5k hands is extremely long and makes me worry a bit - but it did finish successfully?

It still has not finsihed restoring. The vacuum didnto fisnh i cancelled it

Look in the C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.3\data\pg_log directory at the latest file there - are there errors listed? If so, what to they say?
