Problem in the middle of the upgrade

I downloaded the 3.07.4 BETA and started the upgrade, but it keeps failing as there is insufficient disk free space on my C drive. The problem is that I cannot delete anything from that C drive, as postrgeSQL is taking most of it anyways and I cannot cancel the upgrade also, because first thing when I open PT it starts upgrading the database and don't allow me to interfere with it. After it fails, I also cannot do anything else as it either closes the programm or starts the upgrade process once more.
What should I do?

You can safely delete all files in the C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.3\data\pg_log folder - that may help you free up some space. You could also zip up and archive elsewhere all files in C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\Processed, which may help as well.

Ok, I did both, but there is still not enough free space (900 MB).

In that case the easiest thing to do is to probably downgrade back to 3.06.2 - which should work fine since the database upgrade hasn't ever completed - and then make a backup of your database if possible via File --> Backup. Once you've backed your database up, you can uninstall PostgreSQL and remove it and reinstall it elsewhere (on a separate drive with more free space, for example), then restore your database from backup, then upgrade back to 3.07.4.

I cannot make a back-up as there is insufficient free space on my C drive. Is it possible to move the data to other disk drives without backuping, but simply moving some folders?

If you have the original hand histories you will can always re-import to a new database. Just in case, I'd suggest doing an export and zipping those up somewhere off your main drive.

Have a look at this thread - it refers to USB drives, but I think the same will apply for another hard disk.

What if I dont have original HH for my own hands? Can I still export them and re-import those into new database?

So is there a diference between making a proper back-up or exporting and re-importing all the HH in new PT3?

It shouldn't make any difference, really. Export/import can sometimes be better, if you imported hands originally in older versions where an import bug has been fixed since then. Backup/Restore is much faster and will keep all of your results, filters, notes, etc., exactly as they are.
If you have notes and you need to do an export/import then you should make a Backup of your notes at least.
