performance issue

Postby andretti » Tue Oct 19, 2010 8:45 am

Hi guys,

I'm getting laggy behavior if I run more than 12 tables(mouse pointer moves in a broken manner).. (12 are running good but not perfect, 9 - perfect)
I've bought VelociRaptor recently and moved OS along with Postgres data. I see some performance increase but still it is frustrating...
Running 16 tables is not a good idea at the moment:(
As a rule i always turn off Security Essentials during sessions

Here is my hardware/software info:
Athlon 64 X2 6000+,6GB RAM DDR2, VelociRaptor 600gb+barracuda 320gb /Window 7 ultimate x64, PT3 v3.07.5 beta

I followed http://www.pokertracker.com/forums/view ... 45&t=10393, but postgres service cannot start after following both

methods exactly.. so i changed postgresql.conf as i have 3 gigs of ram.

I also tried making symlinks and get logs generated on other drive like in http://www.pokertracker.com/forums/view ... 17&t=15862 but it didnt help either(postgres service cant start again)

Can u guys give some advice..
thanks in advance

p.s. im running PokerStars along with TableNinja
also will i get necessary performance increase if i upgrade my cpu to Phenom II X6 1090T?(surfed the Internet but got contradictory opinions)

Are you using the default HUD? If you're using custom statistics, roughly how many and what kind of statistics are you using?

You really shouldn't be having any performance issues with that setup. Please restart PT3 with the Logging Enabled link on your Start menu, reproduce the slowdowns and report them and we'll investigate the cause further for you.

i have the same issue on my 1.5 year old dual core system with windows 7 x64.
the mouse cursor stops for a short time and then moves on .. its no problem with 6-9 PS tables, but its getting worse with more then 12 or two different clients (boss/stars) with 6 and 6 tables.

i had no issue on the same system with vista 32bit. it startet when i set up windows 7 x64 - fresh installation, only pokersoftware installed (pt3, clients, tableninja, tablescan turbo).
i also noticed that security essentials is not working well with tableninja/stars - turning off during a session gets some performance back.

if you have solved this under win7 please report.

Please report your problem as well in the same way the OP was directed to. We get reports like this very rarely so the more data we can gather about the slowdown in your situation the more it will help us figure out what we need to do to get things working for you.
