Duly noted, though I'm also running Ubuntu and I didn't have any problems using the stock PostgreSQL installation (after editing pg_hba.conf and postgresql.conf as needed), so I'm not sure what you did to cause the problem -- either way, I'm glad to hear you have it working.

Sorry for the bump, but by "flawlessly," do you mean the HUD works too? If so, what distro and window manager?

Cheers

I perhaps should've been a bit less enthusiastic.

All built in PT3 reports and data displays appeared to work. I did not test the HUD as I don't have any poker clients installed in Wine and the last time I tried to install FTP in Wine, it wasn't working properly.

Once I finish getting my new version of the Advanced HUD out, I'll see if there's a new version of Wine that gets FTP working properly so I can test the HUD.

(FWIW, I'm running Ubuntu 8.10.)

Ok, cool. FWIW, I'm pretty sure the FTP software works perfectly under wine.

That's what the wine thread said too, but when I tried it kept crashing. I'll have to give it a try again at some point.

Hi,
After digging around http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15848 (gray "splash" box bug), I found out that the only working version is beta 28.1 (PT-Install-v3.00.b28.1.exe from http://www.ptrackupdate.com/releases/PT ... .b28.1.exe ), even beta 30.5 doesn't work. The Latest 3.08 official release doesn't work also.
Hope this bug will be fixed in the future.

That's odd I thought I'd had it reported that the more recent betas worked at least in limited fashion. I'll try and have a poke at it later today and see what I can figure out.
