OCZ RevoDrive X2... good for database?

This thing destroys any SSD out there, but I have never heard it until I was researching the Vertex 3. It's based on MLC NAND flash memory and is inserted into a PCI Express slot

Would these sick numbers translate to better performance for PT3? This SSD outperforms the based convential SSDs by a magnitude of 3

I can only imagine so - the faster it reads and writes data, the less of a bottleneck PostgreSQL would be. Plus, running your applications from it would probably be lightning fast . . .

Which test/specific benchmark would be most important for databases? For 4k read/writes, the Revo Drive X2 is slightly better than the best traditonal SSD, but decimates them with 128k and higher. I have zero clues what these tests mean, but they refer to databases:

Random read and random write are probably the most important for us, but really you won't go wrong with any drive on that list. Should the RevoDrive X2 perform better than some of the other drives that came in consistently in the bottom? Yes. How much will you notice the difference? That's a lot harder to say.

The 4K random read/write is the highest priority right.... should I be focused on the I/O operations/second?

Yes probably - the database does a lot more reading than writing for the most part, so reading is going to be what you care about most.

But these numbers are so far beyond what conventional hard drives can do that the actual difference in terms of real world performance is not worth agonizing over too deeply.

you are thinking way to hard. Any SSD will be a massive improvement that knocks your socks off.
