reinstalling postgreSQL

Postby Alpine021 » Wed Jun 08, 2011 5:23 am

Hey,

I had a virus on my computer and had to completely reinstall PT3

Having an actual nightmare. Presently trying to reinstall postgreSQL and in the setup wizard it is
asking for a password for the database superuser.

It then says "if the service account already exists in windows you must enter the current password for the account"?

No idea what to do. It wont let me create one and I dont know what it could be.

Thanks

Try the following:
svcPASS83
dbpass
postgrespass

Odds are good one of those will work for you. If they don't, follow our uninstall/reinstall guide on our documentation page and it will explain to you how to remove that user so that it can be reinstalled and will work (without damaging your data).
