Im really unsure what to put into the Configure database settings thing.

If i restore to database xxxx numbers, should i pick this one when in the Configure database that comes up after pt3 restarts and click this allready exist? Or pick the numbers that randomly comes up wich i guess means a new database?

But anyway i guess it aint working when the "decompressing" part gets an error, and it takes a really short time to restore.

I think im unable to access the pAdmin III postgresql database server 8.2 local, because i have configured postgresql to work on port 5490 now, not 5432. Makes sense that i cannot backup in 8.2 anymore when i have installed 9.0?

However doesnt explain why i cant even access the 9.0 postgresql localhost in pgadmin III.

Neeed pt3 working today.. zz

If you need to back up manually in 8.2 you would need to start the PostgreSQL 8.2 service and then run PGAdmin for 8.2.
When you've made the backup start the 9.0 service and run PGAdmin for 9.0 to restore.
Having both installed isn't a problem - they can run fine together on separate ports.

How do i start postgresql 8.2 service? Start service is that it? In pgadmin its asking if im running port 5432. When i open pt3 it is always running in 9.0 so it doesnt appear as im able to switch between them.

If i right click in pGadminIII and click Start service for 8.2 it says An error has occured: Failed to start server pqsql-8.2 Errcode=1069. Check event log for details. I can stop and restart 9.0 .

Click Start and type "Services" and press Enter (if you have XP, go to Services in the Control Panel).
Find PostgreSQL 8.2, right click and choose Start.
If it doesn't start properly have a look in the Event Viewer (click Start and type "Event") - do you see any errors for PostgreSQL?

Please create a Support ticket and one of our technicians will help you get things working. If we can't work things out we can set up a remote session where someone can connect and help you directly, but lets do it via your ticket, if necessary.

While i try to fix this mess could i use pt3 without the "move hands to processed folder" and later when im able to log in to 8.2 again, just delete the database restore and then manually import the hands i play in this period?

Btw the "postgres superuser" i dont find anywhere in users control panel anymore.. may be the reason.. mike on tech is helping me so waiting for reply from him now

That's an option - another option (which I think might be a little better) would be to set PT3 to move the processed files to a new folder with nothing else - then you can manually import that directory later and you'll know it's all and only the new hands.

If the postgres Windows user has been deleted the easiest way to get him back is to reinstall - if he's just hidden (which is possible though unlikely to happen without your direct interaction) then it won't matter.

If you have either PostgreSQL version working then you must have the postgres user set up, so I doubt it's that. Please follow up in your ticket - it's easiest to keep the discussion in one place.
