Upgraded PT3 to PT4, Multiple Basic Import Problems

Postby sdlsdlsd » Fri Jul 27, 2012 12:06 pm

So first off, of my 900k hands it looks like it imported 100k. I can't even find the log files to tell me what's going on. In PT3 it was in the default folder/logs, not anymore. The PT3>PT4 import completed fine, it's just that 85% of the hands aren't there when i have all filters set to default ("all"). It says i've played 163 hands on PS this month, while it should be 5231.

Also, adding aliases doesn't seem to work at all. "Begin typing to search for a player". OK i type a couple letters, then i get the full unfiltered list, then back to "Begin typing to search for a player" with no list. It's unusable.

If you started PT4 with logging enabled you can find your log in the folder that appears when you click File -> Open User Data Folder in the main PT4 window - the log file is the text file called PokerTracker4.

The behavior you describe sounds very strange. Are you sure you're looking at the proper gametype? If you were looking at cash games ($) instead of tournaments (T) that could explain the very odd results you're seeing.

I am indeed looking at cash games, which is where most of my 900k hands occurred...

Were there any errors reported in the conversion? Are you certain you have the correct name selected from the Player drop down?

To be clear, i should have some 700k cash hands, but only 100k are showing up with no filters.

Also, regarding the alias search that doesn't work, the same search window doesn't work if i try to Change Active Player.

Finally, another issue that came up is that post-install, there is nothing in the PT4 start menu folder. The launch icon is on the desktop and on the start menu, but there is nothing in the PokerTracker 4 start folder. This despite the fact that otherwise the program appears to have fully installed correctly.

Certainly some errors, as with 900k hands there's bound to be the occasional 1 in 1000th hand that has issues, the same ones that wouldn't import in PT3 likely. I didn't think anything of it and didn't scroll through the whole thing (you can't anyway, since while it's importing it constantly pushes you to the bottom of the log). If i'd had any idea there'd be 700k hands missing i'd have paid more attention.

And yeah, the correct name in the dropdown which the program somehow found by default. Luckily, since with the search bug i wouldn't be able to find my name anyway without scrolling through 100,000 names.

Edit: could these be Postgresql version issues? I didn't change whatever my current version is, which control panel says is 9.1.

PT4 detects hero names by default - when the search box shows up you should be able to type and the list should shrink as you type.

We do not recommend PostgreSQL 9.1 (the highest we recommend is 9.0), but that shouldn't cause problems like you are describing.

Does PT4 show as version 4.02? It sounds like something very strange may have happened on installation (as you don't have folders in your Start Menu).

Yes, 4.02. PokerTracker 4 (remove only) also displays in Control Panel.

Were these hands spread across multiple screennames or sites?
Have you tried looking at the other screennames? Are they in the Player List? If not, try using the Choose New Player option there and type one of your names.
How many hands do you see for your other names?

Yes, however with the one PS screenname it's loading, it only shows 100k of an actual 470k cash hands.

I can't find a single one of my dozen+ other screennames, because the list is only showing me PS screennames for some reason.
