So I mentioned before that I have a 2.5 year old laptop w/ 4 GB of RAM and thought this was the reason why NT takes such a long time to compile my notes to the player note box in real time. Normally it takes over 20 hands to show anything, but when it finally does show notes, there will be a bunch all at once shown instead of 1 by 1. After it shows all the notes, it then shows the latest notes about 3-5 hands after the hand is over.
I recently installed 8GB's of Crucial Ballistix RAM (DDR3 PC3-14900 • 10-10-10-30 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1866 • 1.35V •
Speed: 1866 MT/S) which is optimized for the latest fourth-generation Intel Core i5 and i7 mobile processors thinking that this would dramatically decrease the number of hands it would take to start displaying notes. I was hoping this would put an end to having 15 notes pop up all at once after the 20th hand and would result in the notes being displayed say, maybe after 6 hands and afterwards, being displayed after the hand is over.
The only difference I see w/ the new RAM is that instead of taking 20 hands for the notes to show up, it takes about 15 for a single note to be displayed. After this point, it still takes about 3-5 hands for the last note to be displayed. So if I play a hand, for the notes from that hand to be displayed, I have to wait about 5 hands for those notes to be displayed. I know I have a ton of notes but I figured that the upgrade would help immensely but to my surprise, there's almost no change in how they all show at once instead of 1 by 1 and also in the amount of time it takes for new notes to be displayed. How long does it normally take for the latest note to be displayed? Do you have any suggestions on how I can improve the NT's performance?
