Which MDB files can I delete?

Postby CaptnCanary » Thu Feb 19, 2009 2:19 pm

A while ago I converted my PT2 database to Postgres. Since then the MDB access database files in my PT2 directory are still there but do not get modified. I guess those files are now redundant. But as they are big - some are 2GB - I would like to delete the files that I no longer need. Please can you tell me which files are safe to delete and which ones I must keep, if any.
Also, I do not know where Postgres stores the database files for PT2 (and PT3 also) so please can you tell me where to look for those files so that I can set up my PC to back them up to my external hard disk. Thanks

You can delete all but the ptregv2.mdb and hhdb.mdb files.

They should be in the c:\program files\postgresql\8.x\data folder where "x" is the version number of PostgreSQL that you are using (i.e. 8.2 or 8.3).

Hi Pat. I deleted all of the MDB files apart from the ones you said not to and next time I launched PokerAce HUD v 1.19.10 it came up with the following error message:
ODBC Microsoft Access Driver Login Failed
Could not find file 'C:\Program Files\Poker Tracker V2\PTRACK2.MDB'

Then when I OK'd that it came up with a Login box which said Data Source PTRACK3 and had Login name admin and password was blank. It also had a database button which apparently will allow me to select a different database file.

I still have the mdb files in my recycle bin if I need to restore them.
Just to clarify I recently installed and registered PT3 but want PokerAce Hud to work from PT2 until microgaming is supported in PT3.

Please could you tell me how to fix this problem.

You'll have to unhighlight/deactivate all those old Access databases in PokerAce, see here
