Hey guys, I'm getting told I'm $40 over EV from Hold 'em Luck, but on PT (it's hard to tell because it's just a graph), but it looks like it's telling me I'm $400-$500 over EV??

EDIT - Only filters I have are that they're this month on both software

Here are some images

I'm not sure, but I think Hold'em Luck is including hands that PT3 doesn't. For example, when I filtered by databases to all hands that either had the player going all-in or calling an all-in, the resulting hand count was less than the number of hands Hold'em Luck was graphing. Those extra hands may explain the differences.

If you look at the number of hands played it seems pretty close? Certainly close enough to not see more than $100 swing really?

Does PT evaluate multi-way all in hands or just heads up? Holdem Luck does multi-way and calculates side pots correctly (I hope).

PT3 only uses those hands that went to showdown and does not take side pots into account. If HL does this, it would explain the differences.

BTW, PT3 will take everything into consideration once the values are saved into the database.

So am I correct in thinking that if a short stacker goes all in for say $3. Two other people call so the 'main pot' is $9. Then the side pot between player 1 and player 2 goes up to like $100 it won't get taken into account?

I don't want it to seem like I'm annoyed, just wanted to make it clear so I don't pay too much attention to the discrepancy until a few beta's time.

Just had a couple of small session on the microgaming network using Beta 26 .

On both occassions some hands where not imported .. I have to finish the session and auto import for the rest to appear .

Not a major problem but it means the HUD stats are not upto date when im playing .

Apart from that .. hunky dory !

C:\Microgaming\Poker\xxxxxxxxxMPP|GameHistory.dat ..

Or use auto detect ..

xxxxxxx is whatever skin your using ..mine is CanbetPoker .

You need to mess around with Prefered seating to get the HUD to go to the right seats

so the EV graph just looks at the EV after an all-in hand? does it calculate the EV for the all-in bet or the whole pot?

for example: hero has AA and villain has KK. both have 100xBB
20BB go in PF
60BB go in on the flop
the turn brings a K
20BB (the rest) go in on the turn

how does the EV graph calculate this scenario? does it just take my 5% equity on the turn because that's when the all-in bet happened? does it take only into account the 20BB hero put in with the all-in bet or the whole 100BB (not considering the fact, that hero got 80BB in as a huge favorite and only 20BB as an underdog)? or does it take into account every EV along the way (80% of 20BB pf, 90% of 60BB on the flop and 5% of 20BB on the turn)? If so, why not calculate the EV of every hand that went to showdown .. basically sklansky bucks
