Thanks . . . by now I have figured out that red is a small percentage vs blue being a large percentage . . . I just couldn't see the colors in their usual spots, and had to go into the "configure stats" to see how they were set up. And I'll make sure I re-read your post at least a couple more times . . . some of it definitely went over my head at first! I'll probably end up doing what the response below suggests and simplify it down to three or four colors, rather than 10, as I don't think I'll be able to distinguish, much less remember, all those subtle differences in the heat of the moment (especially with more than one or two tables going). Besides, my play is probably not going to change much from open-raising into someone that 3bets 15% vs 23% . . . but if it's 40%, or 70%, I'll want to know the difference. . . . Anyway, I may have said it before, but even if I have, I need to say it again: Thanks to kraada for all the work and time put into this indeed very advanced HUD, and especially for sharing it with everyone!!!WhiteRider wrote:The colour ranges are all the same (i.e. 15% is always the same colour) apart from a couple of specific stats which are explained in the post. These colour ranges are explained in the thread too, but there is no "red is good" because "good" is different for different stats.
Great suggestion, thanks! I'll probably do something similar . . . now I'm wondering, though, if there's a quick way to adjust all color ranges like that, or did you have to go into every individual stat and change the ranges one-by-one? It'd be nice if I could just set up two "templates" -- one going from green-red and another going the opposite way -- and then just sort of cut & paste those into the affected stats. . . .t3hnu7z wrote:I also found the colours hard to learn, so when I built my cash HUD I went away from every 10% and went to 33%, making green, yellow, and red. These colours are easily identifiable for quick decisions, but less precise (obviously). I use the colours almost exclusively for folding information of my foes based on which bets are put to them and when. Green is someone I can more easily bluff, Yellow is middle road, and Red is someone I had better have a hand against if I decide to bet into them. Have fun with it and decide what will work best in your mind given your style of play.
Of course, I knew I'd have to spend some time with it to learn it . . . at first I just wasn't sure if kraada had already built in some sort of "code" into the colors, and then my inability to find them in the HUD config (where I'd previously set up my own ranges) confused me some more . . . lol, I guess I'm just a PT3 noob , but I'm trying to do something about it! I currently play my cash games on "HUD-less" Cake, but I do play tourneys at other sites, and I know I'll eventually transition my cash play to either Full Tilt or Stars, but I need to get a good grip on the HUD before I can really jump in there and multitable.WhiteRider wrote:...if you build your own HUD or adapt his to your own needs then you will get much more out of it. You really need to understand what all the numbers and colours mean; and the only way you can really do that is if you built it yourself (or spent a lot of time familiarising yourself with it).
