New HH E Mail format from Party

Postby kjls04202 » Wed Oct 14, 2009 3:02 pm

Hi - As I didnt get any answer in the last 4 hours on my support ticket. I am posting this here. I cannot import any tourney summaries from Party anymore as their format seems to have changed. I usually save all my email HH as text files and then import them with PT. Yesterday I had no luck at ll with this and it seemd to think that I was using play money and no summaries were imported.

Is this for PT2? I've gotten no support ticket from you, what's the ticket number? Post an example so I have some idea what you are talking about.

When I import as usual after saving files as txt PT tells me no summaries imported and no hands imported as they were play money which they certainly were not play money!!

There are numerous changes here. The word "For" in the "Hand History For Game" should be "for" with a lower case "f". There should be no "#" in the tournament number. These are just 2 I saw. These other "Player X shown..." lines should not be in there and there are probably more. I don't have time to look into a fix until at the earliest this weekend and depending on how extensive these changes to the format are, I don't know when there will be a patch. You can still import the hands from the hard drive correct?

Yes I can but I have to do the summaries and the winnings manually and I miss the extra hands which are important.

I can send you a whole HH by email if you want to look and see what 'fixes' are needed.

Send me the text files you are trying to import so I can have something to test with.

Thanks for the reply to my support ticket. The thing is if a fix doesnt fix it all then it is a little pointless. I have sent a mail to Party about your reply but the support there is less than useless and on another planet. When this first happened I mailed them and they insisted that NO CHANGES had been made and to contact you.

LOL, that is funny because there were A LOT of things that changed. Little things, but still when you have a parsing program that relies on things being there and they aren't then it causes a ton of problems.

My favorite is this one...

1st place - freccle - $50
2nd place - seb0219 - $30
3nd place - TableCharger - $20

3nd place instead of 3rd place!!!

Oh, that and every betting action is 100 times greater than it really is.

freccle raises 12000 to 12000

The raise was really only 120.00 not 12,000.00. Now, this wouldn't be so bad if they were CONSISTENT throughout but it wouldn't be a Party change if they were. The amounts shown in the chip counts at the top of the hand history don't use this format and neither do the amounts in the summary section where it shows how much a player won or lost.

I can write up a full list of changes if you want me to.

Here is the patch:
http://s217900936.onlinehome.us/patch21704j.exe

As I said in reply to your ticket, there are errors in a lot of hands where they don't list the player that collected money from the pot. However, the other issue, about it not recording the place of finish I believe I found a work around for that problem so it may be a bit more useful now.

Let me know if you find any other issues besides the problem with the error I described above.
