Nothing happens on 1st install

Postby cmitch » Mon Feb 11, 2008 11:21 am

I just dl'ed the PT3 without progres version. I have already progres dbs on my computer. It dl'ed fine, but when I clicked the icon to open the program, it started to open then nothing happened. I tried again and got a "Pokertracker3 is already running" message. Nothing came up though.

I checked my task manager and the file didn't show up in the applications running section. I couldn't find it in the processes section. I'm at a loss on what to do next.

Thanks

EDIT: I did find PokerTracker.exe file running in the processes, but nothing is happening and it isn't showing up in the Applications. I tried uninstalling and re-installing - same problem.

I am running XP Pro on a Dell Inspiron - purchased this year.

Do you have a firewall or anything that would prevent PT3 from checking the update server?

I have Norton Internet Security. The first time I tried to open PT3, I got the message from NIS asking what kind of access to give PT3. I gave it "Always allow connections..." access.

EDIT: I just disabled NIS for 5 minutes and tried to open it with success. It looks like NIS may have some issues with PT3.

I have the same problem. My security is CA Security (Time Warner - Road Runner internet provider).

I will try to disable it like you did with 'Norton' and report back the results.
