PT3 now stops working/fatal error/freezes EVERY DAY

Postby battered » Tue Jul 14, 2009 8:16 am

seriously every day. it was never doing this back in december.

Is there anything we can do?

i have 2mill hands in cash, that I now don't use (old, moved up level etc), I tried to purge these, it said time left 245551:22:01, yeah right I thought leaving it running over night.... 6.34 hrs later was still showing time remaining as 180000:00:00hrs.

as I dont have that much spare time... should it take that long to purge, or should I just do a few junks at a time.
will lightening my database have any effect on PT stability?

Thanks

product is great fwiw, but stability is def worse

It definitely shouldn't be doing that, regardless of how many hands you have. What version of PT3 are you running?

Things should be working there, could you please submit a bug report? We can figure out more from there.

sent last couple of crash logs.

sometimes it just stops working though....

thanks

as per purging database... I want to do this anyway, as load up and house keeping much much quicker when light.

how long should 2mill hands take to purge... should I just purge bitesize chunks?

I haven't purged that many hands or from a database that big so I don't know how long it will take, but purging is a relatively slow process.
You might find it quicker to export the other hands and import them into a new database, depending on how many other hands there are.
Do you have plenty of free space on your disk? Have you defragmented recently? That will help performance.

how do I do this - just take it from processed hands (in PT folder) since a certain date??

any way to distinguish difference between cash / sng tables?

thanks

That would not be recommended; if you want to just delete your database and start fresh, do it from the Database Management window in PT3. The "Delete" function is quite fast and will do everything you need without causing any other problems.
