hand history problems with AP SNGs

Postby budo » Wed Apr 06, 2011 1:02 pm

I'm using the trial version of PT3 holdem. The hand histories which AP imports all end when I am eliminated from the SNG so tournament results are not shown. I submitted a request to AP to email hand histories to me for the last 30 days (their maximum), which they did. The 200+ hand histories are in my yahoo mail inbox.

I configured the PT3 "Import From Email" area for Server: mail.yahoo.com - User: my yahoo email name (excluding ".yahoo.com") - Port:110 - and my password. SSL is UNchecked.

When I try (multiple times) to import the hand histories I get a PT3 error message saying "Timeout when connecting to server" after about 5 seconds.

I've tried while logged IN to my yahoo email account; while logged OUT; etc all to no avail. Is this just a PT3 trial version restriction or am I doing something wrong?

Did you enable POP access in your Yahoo account's options? If not, you will need to do that first.

I guess that's the problem, and yahoo mail wants $20 a year for a mail upgrade that will allow that :(

Is there any workaround?

You can also copy & paste the text of the email into a plain text document (e.g. use Notepad) and import that.

Thanks. An email addy change would affect a number of related accounts (rakeback and its related bonus features like sscope, deucescracked, etc) so I'll try to avoid that. Let's see how fast i tire of copy/paste first :)

Ok, so I opened a gmail email account and I changed my email addy on AP to that gmail account. I then ordered hand histories by email from AP and they arrived in my gmail inbox (208 emails). I enabled gmail pop for all mail including mail already downloaded and confirmed that is in effect.

I then changed the PT3 manual import to Server: mail.gmail.com, User: my gmail user name, and my password. Now when I "test" or select "Import from email" I get a PT3 error message saying "server did not respond". I tried again while I was logged in and out of gmail - same response.

Help :)

Nup, same reply when I try "import from email". Message says "server did not respond"

In Outlook Express I show Server: pop.gmail.com, Name: the user name I selected, email address: my gmail email address, Relpy address: blank. The box " Include this account when retreiving mail..." is CHECKED

In PT3 configuration I show Server: mail.gmail.com, User: same user name I selected in Outlook Express' , Port: 110, Password: my gmail email password

any ideas?

BTW I am prepared to hit the "purchase" button to upgrade to full PT3 holdem if I can get this all configured correctly.
