Is PostgreSQL running on your machine? What operating system are you using?

I'm on a MAC 10.5.8. How do I check if PostgreSQL is running?

In Applications -> Utilities -> Activity Monitor, from the drop down choose "Show Other Users Processes" - do you see any postgres processes running there?

That's good, PostgreSQL is running then.

Edit the ~/Library/Application Support/PokerTracker/PokerTracker.cfg file in TextEdit and set Logging=Y (it's up near the top of the file). Save it then attempt to open PT3 again. Let it run for a few minutes, then attach the ~/Documents/PokerTracker/PokerTracker.log file to a support ticket and we'll figure out what's going on in your case and help you get everything working properly.

If there is no Logging should I just make one? I see a few entries for Default.Postgres then after that it starts with DB1.Postgres. Tried making one near the top, outside of the Database section. I'm not seeing any log files in Documents. Oh and I also have to force quit PT3...don't know if that matters or not.

Out of curiosity I went into VMware to look for that config file. There seems to be sections missing in my MAC config file. ie the [General] section does not exist.

You should just be able to add that line and it will work properly.
