Well the program is still crashy only now it isn't clear that it has crashed and you have to pay attention to what is loading and isn't. So in that way it is worse than 14, 15 was unusable. I made an extensive log file of probably multiple crashes since I didn't realize had enabled logging. Only the last crash did any small windows pop up. Now I just have to find the file and send it to you.

What and where will the log file be that I enabled?

c:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\PokerTracker.log
and PokerTrackerHUD.log

Zip (right click / Send To Compressed Folder) them and attach them to a ticket on the Support system.
Thanks.

One problem seems to be if you only have cash games in the database (or only tournaments I guess).
Does this apply?
Try observing/importing some hands (e.g. at Full Tilt) of the other type and then try caching again.

There is an error somewhere in the program causing Stars to temporarily disconnect from the internet. It lasts between 5 and 15 seconds and has caused me to miss hands. I noticed the problem in version 14 but thought it was me and my computer. The problem is worse and more noticeable with 16. I am 100% sure the problem is in your program as I just had it an as soon as I closed PT3 it went away. I sent numerous log files this morning, I am sure the problem is in them.

You'll need to purge your database and reimport your hands in order to see the fix.

Is it possible to purge hands without notes for tourneys, sessions, hands etc and other stuff is deleted as well?

No, Selective Purge has not been added yet, but will be one of the next things to be done (probably after one more bug-fix beta).
Currently Purge will completely empty your database.

There is no way to speed this up. This is a PostgreSQL process which will be the same regardless if you were using PT3 or any other software that is using a PostgreSQL database.

That's not entirely true. It is possible to tweak the PostgreSQL configuration for things such as buffers an such. Unfortunately I know to little about PostgreSQL myself so I can't give any advices. I am pretty sure there are several very people here that has the needed knowledge that maybe can write a guide for us.

Tweaking can have a very big impact on the performance.

If someone does, please put in considerations based on the users computer when it comes to such things such as CPU (number of cores for example), available RAM, but also if PostgreSQL is only used for PokerTracker or not.

We have these 2 FAQs, if you'd care to comment:

OK, I kinda thought so.

I remember one of you in the PT team mentioning that you where hoping to create a feature that can automate reimport of hands so we don't have to manually export and import them. I hope this is high up on the ToDo list ;) .
