That one slowed the computer to a crawl when tracking 18 tables on full tilt and also crashed about once an hour with some crap about an access violation, and my personal stats came and went with the wind. However when reloaded it would pick up where it left off and the statistics seemed to be accurate.
This one has been a disaster since yesterday. Originally I did housekeeping and it came up with there was something wrong with the database so I was told to reload it all. After taking over an hour to purge the old database I began to load all of the hand histories over 1 million which took literally eight hours from 4 AM until noon. So fine at least it was done and then I ran housekeeping which took a couple hours and it got through the first three until it came to updating cache. That will run for a few minutes on my totally reloaded fresh database and then it stops with a clunk and saysAn error occurred in the internal thread. Exception: Connection lost to database:PT3 DB
After trying that a couple of times with the same result I decided to just try to track hands and see what happened. It is clear it isn't picking up the entire database because most of the tables are shown with the players having no previous hands recorded and that rarely happens because I have a huge database. Then I was tracking a tournament my friend was playing and her original number of hands was correct and after a little while it stops saying she had almost 1600 hands that had been tracked and started saying only 41 as it did for everybody else at the table. It completely forgot its database in mid-game.
So I shut it off and tried again and again the updating cache worked about six minutes and then returned the same error about connection loss to database and the statistics page says the same. It will not load and it says "Connection lost to database:PT3 DB". I was a reasonably happy customer of PT2 and I was ready to buy this thing today if it had worked the way the optimistic forecasts said it would but this thing is a disaster for me. I would like getting the updating cache thing to work even though I have not paid yet because I intend to but this doesn't work. I certainly hope you're not going to tell me to purge the database and start over but I will do what it takes to get this thing to work if you will help thank you.
Seems like a PostgreSQL issue where Postgres is losing connection. When you hit CTRL-ALT-DELETE to open your Task Manager, under the processes tab, how many postgres.exe processes do you see and what are their cpu & memory usages?
