Number of hands question

I'm probably missing something obvious, but why is my total number of starting hands on the "hands" tab different from my total number of hands on the "report" tab?

Do you have any filters enabled? Try clicking the "Clear" button at the top right of the Texas Holdem tab and see if that fixes things. If you have filters set sometimes the number of hands in one report won't agree with the number of hands in some other reports.

Tried that, but no that didn't solve the problem. Any other ideas?

How different are the values? Which is higher?
The Hands tab only shows known hands so if for some reason you have a hand where the hand history isn't complete and doesn't include your hole cards.

I've got 48K listed under starting hands, but my report shows 87K.

What type of report have you created? What section, what columns, etc?

It is a Holdem Tournament Player Statistics report that includes Hands, Total AF, VP$IP, PFR, Preflop AF, Flop AF, Turn AF, River AF, Att to Steal, Fold SB/BB to Steal, and WTSD.

I tracked both numbers during an SNG yesterday and both my Number of Hands in the report and my Number of Starting Hands increased correctly. Do I have a corrupt database or something? Any more ideas?

I have a difference of 2 hands, out of about 3800 hands.
I tracked one of them down, and it was a hand where the history doesn't include any hole cards for me.

Have a look at the 'Positions' tab - how many hands does that report?

What site(s) are these tournaments/hands from?
I really wouldn't expect such a big difference as you're seeing if this is the cause.

Do you have a registered copy of PT3?
If you still have the original hand histories, try creating a new database and re-import the hands, and see if the numbers match up there.
(Make sure that you keep the current database, because your new DB won't have your tournament winnings in it.)

All hands are from FT. Currently I have 49,247 listed under 'starting hands', 49,296 hands listed by 'position', and 88,920 hands in my 'report.' I do have a registered copy of PT3. I think I probably have all the original hand histories, but not 100% sure. If I create a new database, how would I then transfer my tournament winnings over from one to the other? Or would I just be doing this to check and see if the hand totals end up matching better?

Thanks for the help/suggestions, too. I do appreciate them.
