PokerStars Chinese Collusion Ring Detector

For those who are not aware, there's been a ring of Chinese colluders caught and banned by PokerStars - details in this thread.

These players played exclusively Double or Nothing tournaments, and from what I can tell mostly at the $100 level.

There was a request on the 2+2 PokerTracker forum to create a report to help any of you who may want to see if you're entitled to any compensation.

While we do not currently have the capability to determine for certain whether you are due compensation, I have put together a report which is attached to this post which when run will display the following:

The names, if any, of players in the collusion ring which you have played with. The number of hands on those players in your database and the number of tournaments which that comprises. It will also display the number of times those players went all-in. It appears that a large part of the collusion involved pushing all-in repeatedly, so this should help detect how many situations you may have been railroaded in.

If there is anything I can do to improve this report, please let me know, but keep in mind that aggregated ICM values are not yet available so that sort of analysis is currently beyond us.

kraada- this realllllly needs to get posted on pocketfives too. remember P5 is tny/SNG players only.. and some/many only read that forum and not 2+2. There are plenty of SNG grinders that disdain 2+2 and don't read it.

slight tangent-- Frankly I think you should have an *official* presence on P5's as well - at least answering Q's in a thread. Generally speaking when anyone there asks what to use 80% of the respondents tend to recommend HEM. THere are many more newb users on P5 posting IMO then 2+2 anyway- its a less intimidating site. I don't know why you'd ignore where all the tournament grinders are - especially lets of guys just getting into it.

So posting this over there would accomplish things for you
1) a little PR/ good karma for you guys for one - there is no HEM or PT presence.
2) Let some PT users as there are many users there - that this report even exists...
3) Many of those users might be aware of the scandal (its been discusses there) and think - hey ty for the report etc.

note- I don't read 2+2 too often myself...so I'm just saying- multiple opportunities here.

I could be nice and x-post it over on P5- but if you guys did so and took Q's there too--- trust me you'd make money.

PT_Kraada as a new username IMO.....

Thanks for the report after the initial request on 2+2 forum. I've also posted it in the Collusion thread and linked here so hopefully ppl will use it and give feedback. I've ran the report and I'd like to discuss where to go from here after seeing the results http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx349/alexnorge/Poker/Collusionreport_test1.jpg?t=1275511389.

The tournaments listed in the bottom seem to be an average and not total
It would be good to see how often they have appeared on the same tables together
Tournament Ids for each of them
$ won? ROI or something?

All I could think of right now..

Tables together is actually fairly difficult I've been trying to figure out a good way to do that and I'm not sure what it is right now. If I were you I'd look at wzhongz in the main PT3 window next and start looking at the 47 tournaments you have with him, since he's the most common of the bunch.

I'm not exactly sure what's going on with the summary line for the Tournaments stat, I'll have to investigate that further.

So chijanli is the one I got most against (71) and then wzhongz (47). I guess I'll start with them.

What could be really interesting would be to pair or more them. if you get what i mean. Like pair up each of the bunch and then add on to three, then four to see how many they played together ( I think that's what bumpking at 2+2 have been doing). Then it's actually getting really interesting to look at those tournaments and bubble/all ins/ soft play etc.

I think it'll be a hell of a lot of work to do stuff like that manually, but o/c possible.

I just added VPIP, PFR, W$S to the report just to see how the guys play. sooooo look a like stats on the bunch it's ridiculous.
Stars haven't come back with a reply on collusion pay outs yet. Deadline is tomorrow and then I'll start ranting!

If you want to alter the report to create a version that shows tournaments including both chijanli and wzhongz, go into the Filters section of the report (it's the blue link on the left).

Get rid of the filter:
tourney_holdem_hand_player_statistics.id_player in (SELECT p3.id_player from player p3 where p3.player_name in ('renhe88', 'Xiah.G', 'wzhongz', 'MNBQWE12','wzem618800','147222','chijianli','xiawenju','guiliang','Leaders668','Psnyls','yutian','golovorez777','hslj001','maomao1832','wenpk15888','coroinpu','pakerster','yutian','linyin','yangguangze','rara999','cjwqq','DCBM288','phy188002','liuli888','jinse888','wudiyg','ellena054','Xuanyu.L','chenxr','flypretty','nayouyi','hzlsl','Gucci53','Jessica318','Lazzzzzzy','Aladin888','strong arm A','Degreexia','suckfirst','skystory','microsoft25','wenpk15888','freetime1955','xxwpk168','Jane1023'))

and replace it with two filters:

tourney_holdem_hand_player_statistics.id_player in (SELECT p3.id_player from player p3 where p3.player_name = 'chijanli')
and
tourney_holdem_hand_player_statistics.id_player in (SELECT p3.id_player from player p3 where p3.player_name = 'wzhongz')

Save, run your new report, you'll see only data that includes both players. You can of course add more or change the names to look at other combinations as you desire.

Running the report, my stats show 11,777 hands against these people, with 650 all-ins. The sum of my tourneys is 316, but the column total is 19. I'm not sure what that means.

Can anybody point me toward how I might get some reimbursement from PokerStars?

Thanks

The summary row for the Tournaments statistic may not be working properly, I'm still not entirely certain why.

I do not know how PokerStars calculates the amount of money to refund based on these sorts of instances, but you can send your inquiries to them at support@pokerstars.com.

Although I have not been affected by this particular collusion ring, I do play DoN's regularly now. Because of multi-tabling I will miss the action on most hands, so detecting collusion while playing is not very easy.

I'd like the ability to create a report that can help me flag certain players so I can go back through tournaments to see if anything unusual is going on.

Is it possible to build a report that can pair players up (like in the "vs Player" tab) where we can see information like this about Player A vs. Player B:

1) What is A's ITM% with B in the same tournament?
2) What is B's ITM% with A in the same tournament?
3) What is my ITM% when playing with both A and B?

etc.

I'm sure others have good ideas of what else could be included. Is building a report like this possible with the current structure?

Not in a single report, you could make each of those as a single report but they can't currently be combined.
