PT3 Wont Start

I've made no changes to my OS or PT3 but today PT3 just won't start. I get the splash screen, PokerTracker.exe racks up to about 98% CPU usage and then after about 45 seconds CPU usage drops to 0% for PT3 but the program gets no further than the splash screen. I can load other programs and access the interwebz just fine.
Ubuntu 8.04LTS host, VB 3.2.6, Win XP SP2 guest, latest version of PT3.

Delete reference
Yesterday I had made one teeny tiny change that resulted in a different IP address for my server (where postgres lives). When I launched PT3 it went looking for the db at the IP address it thought was correct and couldn't find it... somehow this caused PT3 to lock. Should not PT3 throw up an error message if it can't find the IP/db?
I am NOT going to live this down any time soon.

This used to work correctly. What version of PT3 are you currently running?

That's odd, I'll do some testing to see if I can reproduce this in our latest alpha - it should pop up a box asking you to try to connect to some other database as that database isn't available.

That's what I thought. If I turned on logging and reset my server IP again to replicate the problem would the logging identify the problem?

It should; it logs pretty much everything that PT3 does.

This just happened to me this morning. I didn't think I had made any changes. I even tried to switch into VMware and start it. Doesn't work there either. I'm not sure how to fix this. Help please!
