Migration from HEM

Hello

I am a HEM v.1 user and looking at the possibility of switching, mainly because of their deteriorating support for the users of version 1. The 60 day PT3 trial period seems ideal for my purpose.

Are there any problems having both programs installed at the same time? Will they be able to use the same instance of postgreSQL (I currently have: PostgreSQL 8.4.1, compiled by Visual C++ build 1400, 32-bit)? Obviously I will not run both at the same time, but I might want to switch a bit back and fro for comparison purposes.

If I decide to switch, will I be able to import my HEM hands into PT3 ?
If I decide to not to switch, will I be able to import my PT3 hands played during the trial period into my old HEM?

Any gotchas that I have not thought of yet?

There aren't any problems using PT3 or PT4 alongside HEM (even at the same time if you'd like).

We don't have a conversion tool for PT3, but PT4 does have an automated conversion tool. If you're going to start using a new system anyway you might want to consider just going straight to PT4 - the open beta is now available for PT4 and you can download it here.
