pt3 database problem

Postby MicaScemo » Fri Aug 31, 2012 11:38 am

Hello

I am having a problem when i open pt3 on my mac. As soon as the program loads it asks to configure postgreSQL database as per photo. If i skip this it says that pokertracker cannot continue without a valid database and if i press create it gives me an error message.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you very much!

Is PostgreSQL installed on your machine? Do you see a folder for it in Applications?

Oh yes i have the folder. I used to use PT daily and then i took a break from poker around the time pt4 was about to come out and now I cannot use pt3 anymore as it shows the previously mentioned error messages.

I havent uninstalled or touched any settings.

Go into Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal and run this command:

ps auxw | grep -i postgres

and paste the output here for me.

Ok, it looks like PostgreSQL is not running. Attempt to start the service via the icon in Applications -> PostgreSQL and in Applications -> Utilities -> Console you should see an error relating to PostgreSQL. Please post the error text here and that will help me figure out what you need to do to get things working.

Kraada isn't around this weekend, but I'll see if I can get in touch with him to follow this up. I'm afraid I don't know what your screenshot suggests, although it looks like the PostgreSQL configuration may not be correct - did you change any PostgreSQL configuration values?
