Hi.

My macbook pro is getting very slow after using PT3. It takes ages to open my web browser and sometimes the tables at pokerstars dont respond because of this. How can this problem be fixed? It only occurs when i am using PT.

That definitely shouldn't be happening. What version of OS X are you running and can you tell me something about the specs on your Macbook Pro?

MAC OS X Version 10.7.5

Macbook pro 2012 2,5Ghz
4GB 1600 MHz DDR3

It is something new. I have run PT3 without these kind of problems before. Can i be because so many hands is saved? I have around 10k hands i guess. Other hands i have deleted from database.

You can have millions of hands in a database without problems. Does the Cache Status at the bottom left of PT3 say 100%? If not, run a cache update in Database --> Database Management (and Vacuum/Analyze after) and that should help considerably.

How many tables are you playing at once?

You said that you deleted hands from the database. Did you do that with Database > Database Management > Purge? How many hands did you delete? Did you rebuild the cache after the purge?

12 tables at once normally. I deleted the entire database and created a new one. guess about 30k hand i deleted over time. Dont know about the caches

Ok try going into Database --> Housekeeping and run Reindex then Rebuild Cache then Vacuum/Analyze and let me know if that provides any better experience for you.

Hi,

I had this same problem (when I was using the builtin macbook pro hard drive now replaced with an SSD) because PT3 uses a lot of RAM so the swap memory is being used (you can clearly see that in "System Memory" tab in the Monitor (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1342) and when you quit, the hard drive is spinning like crazy to delete that swap => slow computer.

It's probably because of a memory leak.

Still the same thing, it helped a tiny bit, but not much.
