Dropbox for PC/MAC?

Postby essecento » Thu Oct 17, 2013 4:32 am

Hi guys!

I'm planning to buy PT4 but I've a very important question.
I use to play poker from 2 different machines: a windows and a mac.
Is it possible somehow to synchronize the 2 database by dropbox or similar?
Otherwise I'll have to manage 2 different databases and it sucks a bit.

Thx for reply.

You can use Dropbox to share hand histories between the two machines, but due to the nature of the way PostgreSQL works you can't install the database directly on a dropbox folder.

Sorry but I'm not sure if your reply is a positive or negative one for my problem.
I cannot install the DB directly on a dropbox folder and it's ok but... does the program "see" all the hands (pc+mac) from both machines and use both data for the HUD (for example)?
And if yes where can I find the procedure to "connect" the 2 database?

You can set your database up to use the local network if you want as explained here -- the guide was written for PT3 but works just as well for PT4. If you put the hand histories in Dropbox you'll need to import them on both sides to keep the databases in sync as explained here.
