yes. I have modified it with tuning enterprise db. It raises the memory sizes...., but after that I can't start the PostgreSql. So I modified it, lowered the memory sizes. Now I reinstall my system I had other problems too. Could you please tell me how I can setup the config file to use the most memory for postgres? when I raises the "buffer size" value over 1gb, the postgres can't start. Are there anyway that the postgres use about 6-7 Gb memory and give mucm more speed?

How much RAM do you have in your system?

No, postgres is a 32-bit program and so it is limited to 2gigs of addressable memory. (There are tricks to increase that limit, but they only work on certain versions of Windows most notably the server products.) You need to make sure all of your values are below the 2 gig mark or it will fail to allocate that memory.

I have 12gb, so I will put 6gb to my other computer, if no way to use with win7. Are there any 64-bit database program which is recover the postgres and works well with pt3 and win7?

PT3 only works with PostgreSQL at this point in time.

PostgreSQL uses Windows for memory caching. Also we use multiple connections to PostgreSQL. You should see memory improvements at least up to 32GB of ram and maybe even up to 64GB. Since you have such a powerful machine you should definitely read the Postgres tuning guides. They go into a lot more detail and give recommended settings based on total RAM.
