Do you have any Custom Stats which begin with numbers?
Apparently these don't work (josh is going to make them work for the next release, but for now you will need to rename or remove them).

Not that I'm aware of.

This version's screwed it up completely for me.

Trying to make my debian-based database compatible with this housekeeping thing has essentially led me (via 2 or 3 hours of arsing around installing different debian postgres versions) to a situation where I think my database is gone completely, meaning I'll have to start a new one from my hand histories, and once again I can't get PT to connect to the database over the network at all, so I'm going to have to have to follow everything I did here...

viewtopic.php?f=17&t=7444&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

...again to try and get it all working again.

It was so close.... B15.3 NEARLY worked!

WHY???? Oh, GOD, WHYYYYY am I being put through such trials just to use a piece of damn poker software????

It took me days to sort it out last time I was in this position!

And now... new version, I'm there AGAIN, but this time I might also have to start a whole new database and reinput all my tourney results again if I want my graph to be realistic!

WWWHHHHYYYYY???????!!!!!!

From me you get a simple: "Why didn´t u make a backup of the postgre database?!"

Dont blame PT3 4 this.

Those of you having this problem, what version of PostgreSQL are you running?

I'm an amateur poker player who works in a factory, not a database management expert.

How was I supposed to know that updating my postgres version would delete my existing database?

Shocking programming (of postgres) if it really is gone!

My beef with PT3 B16 is that B15.3 was almost fine... just a few little bugs.

I get told that upgrading to B16 will sort out my bugs so I do.

B16 tells me I need to do "housekeeping" so I do.

Housekeeping gives me an error and PT3 staff tell me I need to update postgres, so I do.

Now it's totally ballsed up and leaving me in a situation which will take me over a week of constant work to sort out!

So it's gone from "almost fine" to "requiring over a week of work from me before I can play poker with PT3 again" all for the sake of "ironing out a few little bugs".

I was on 7.4.7 (the latest "stable" release for Debian) but now I'm on 8.1 (The latest "testing" release for Debian).

My problem has now gone beyond the housekeeping one though - for all I know, that side will work now I've upgraded to 8.1.
I'll let u know once I've managed to get PT3 to connect to postgres over my network again.

PT3 is designed to work with PostgreSQL 8.2.5 and up, so you might have problems running an older version.

Hello,

I've got as well a little problem with my PT3:

When trying to import either cash game or tournament hands, I get the following error message (it’s not just Everest, it occurs at Full Tilt or Poker Stars as well)

Everest: Unable to import hand (#3643312360). Reason: Unable to execute query: COPY tourney_holdem_hand_player_statistics FROM STDIN;; Reason: Fatal Error (ERROR: invalid page header in block 1555 of relation "tourney_holdem_hand_player_statistics" CONTEXT: COPY tourney_holdem_hand_player_statistics, line 1: "9478 19934 19934 154 10 137 2008/08/31 19:33:11 9 f f 0 f 1 f f f t f 0 f 1 t f f t f 0 f 1 t f f t ..." )

It first happend today afternoon after a computer crash. I then de-installed and re-installed PT, but without success. I still get this nasty message and can't import hands.
I did this "houskeepin" thing two days ago and PT worked fine afterwards. So it has probably nothing to do with the "housekeeping" function, but I didn't want to open a new thread cause I thought it could be answered here as well.

Cheers

It would help generally to keep separate issues in their own threads.
Have a look at the Database / Postgres FAQ

It was working "almost" fine with B15.3 and PGSQL v.7.4.7

I'm now on PGSQL v 8.3 (although "dpkg -l" says I've also got 8.1 installed, and it won't allow me to remove it, saying "package not installed so can't remove it".

I've started a new thread with all the info in it regarding my new problem. It's on the PostgreSQL board.
