Poker Tracker Portable?

Here is the thing. I have a laptop about 2 years old now, and while it does the job for poker, the problem is that I don't want the hard drive to be clogged up, as it isn't the largest.

Additionally, I am hoping to be getting the ASUS 1000 in a few weeks time, so I will also be hoping to play poker on that as well, when I am away from home and travelling.

I have heard it is possible, to put the Poker Tracker program on the main drive of the computer, but have the hand histories/database placed onto an external hard drive. This would be useful as I can place Poker Tracker on both computers, while having the bulk of the data on a separate hard drive, which can be used on both.

I have been searching threads on here, 2+2 and 55, and while there has been some information, I haven't really been able to find something which instructs clearly.

Could anyone give a detailed list on what to do, to get this done, if this is actually possible. Or could someone show a link to a thread, which does this?

Have a look at the Database / Postgres FAQ - one of the "how to" topics explains how to set up your database on a separate drive. It doesn't mention external drives explicitly, but I don't see why it shouldn't work..
