Import Tournament History doesn't update Number of Players

I've seen a few postings on this subject but no response... QandA201 summed it up best in this post: http://www.pokertracker.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16725&start=70#p80560

The bottom line is that the number of entrants for a tournament seems to be determined by the number of players for which there are observed hands, and even when the Tournament Histories are imported, this number does NOT get updated.

I (and QandA201) see this on PokerStars, but i've also seen this reported for iPoker, so I assume this is not site related.

FTR, I'm using PT3 Beta 26. It's really a pain to have to update these manually.

Thanks,
Pete

Thanks, but I'm already importing the tournament histories using the "Import From Email" function. My point was that EVEN when I do this, the number of entrants is NOT getting updated to the correct number.

For example, if I enter a two-table SnG and bust out on the first hand, the number of players is stored as 9 -- the number of players observed at that time. When I import the hand history after the tournament is over, the number of entrants is NOT updated to 18 - it remains at 9, and I have to manually update it.

Thanks,
Pete

That shouldn't be happening.
Please enable logging, reproduce the problem by playing a single tournament then importing the summary and submit your PokerTracker.log file to the Support system , and link to this thread in the reference field of the ticket so that we can investigate.
Attach the hand history file and the .eml and .dat files (which are written to the 'processed' folder when you import from email) too. You can select all the files and right click > Send To Compressed Folder then attach the .zip file.

I tried this again with two small groups of tournaments (3 & 7 respectively), and both imports updated the number of entrants correctly. The last time that I know it failed was when I imported ~30 tournaments at once.

I'll try enabling logging again the next time I try to import several at once, but I may just keep trying smaller groups and see if the problem stays away.

Thanks,
Pete

Well, I knew it couldn't last. After loading up build 27, I tried to import an email with 35 tournies, and many of the player counts did not get updated. Unfortunately I did not have logging on at the time.

I have filed this with the email file under support ticket # 57617.

Thanks,
Pete

I replied to this ticket, but FYI I imported in beta 26 too and this isn't a new problem in beta 27 - the number of players isn't imported in b26 either. This issue is already in our bug tracker.
