Working PT3 install stopped working after Vista SP2 update. PT3 is working again if SP is removed. Also, if it helps: PT2 stopped working too while did not PTO. Any comments or suggestions?

Is PostgreSQL running successfully once you have upgraded to SP2? Do you still have UAC disabled?

Correct - no config change after SP install. Also what happens (if I wasn't clear), PT3 (and PT2) just crashes when trying to start it. Again, if I remove SP2, everything runs fine as it used to before. Are you implying it runs fine at your vista machine even after SP2 update?

I don't personally run Vista but I will point this out to our head of QA so that he can see if things work right on his Vista machine.

So what's the deal? It has been 24 hours + since I've reported it and no fix has been issued? The fact is that Vista (while flawed) is the *LATEST OS* so it supposed to be main focus of the support team. And I'm sure any professional player can't wait even a couple days for that to happen. Please advice.

I've been having the same issue since I upgraded to SP2 yesterday as well. All I get when I click on the PT3 shortcut is:

[Window Title]
Microsoft Windows
[Main Instruction]
PokerTracker.exe has stopped working
[Content]
Windows is checking for a solution to the problem...
[Cancel]

I've rebooted, cleaned up the system, deleted temporary files, (everything except uninstall SP2) and still nothing. "The pgsql-8.3" service is still running fine.

Any help would be great, thanks :)

I just installed SP2 on my Vista VM and PT3 is working fine.
Did you install anything else?

Please enable logging, reproduce the problem and submit your PokerTracker.log file to the Support system , and link to this thread in the reference field of the ticket so that we can investigate.

Thanks WhiteRider.

Nope I didn't install anything else. In fact I was using the PT that morning before installing SP2, then installed the update. As soon as I rebooted the system, I tried to open PT again and have been encountering the error since. I did as you suggested and enabled logging through the config file (although I don't believe anything is being logged, and I still have no 'PokerTracker.log' file in the 'Poker Tracker 3' directory. There was a 'PokerTrackerHUD.log' file there prior to enabling logging. Regardless, I attached that file along with the most recent log file in the 'Logs' folder in my support ticket.

It's worth noting that I am running the trial version of PT and have only been using it about 3 days. (Not a great start, I guess )

FWIW the SP2 isn't a mandatory update yet, so you do not need to have it.

WhiteRider, I've tried installing SP2 on my laptop and the same thing happened, so yes it's obvious applying SP breaks PT3. The only reason it's still workings on your install I could think of is it's VM. And yes, we understand SP2 is optional. Still, PT would be the first software vendor I'm aware of to suggest "our product is compatible with Vista just don't apply latest SP that's it" as solution. Please get it fixed and ASAP.
