Posted: Fri Jul 30, 2010 1:13 amI did when this problem happened, I tried uninstalling it to reinstall 8.4 and still get the same message. Under the directory there's 8.2, 8.3 and 8.4.

Posted: Fri Jul 30, 2010 2:43 amIt sounds like PostgreSQL isn't able to start, though, so try following the appropriate re-install guide (for the version you are using) in the Documentation.

I think that that means you need to untick the Initialize Database Cluster option - see page 19 of the How to reinstall PostgreSQL guide.
