trying to install postgre

i clicked on the vista download for postre, but i get this error near the end of my install:

Failed to set permissions on the installed files.
Please see the logfile in 'C:\Program
Files\PostgreSQL\8.2\tmp\pgpem.log'.

whats going on!

edit: and yes i'm on the administrator account, there is only one account.

You need to disable UAC. To install the version that comes with PT3, you also need to be running Vista Service Pack 1.

but removing UAC really cuts security in half on my machine, can I re-enable it after the install?

Yes, you can re-enable it after installation. Just make sure if you re-enable that you are running PT3 as an administrator.

Btw, your comment is more of a myth than a fact ;) UAC simply prevents the user from making a bone-headed mistake and even then I'd be surprised if it caught 50% of them due to the user getting used to simply clicking 'Allow'. I personally leave UAC disabled, its more of a hassle than anything...
