This program is new to me, so I'm not sure if its me or the software. I can import hands on FTP but not on PS's. I don't have any filters set up. Any advice for would be greatly appreciated.

If you use manual import and browse to your file, does it give you any messages? If so, what are they?

Pokerstars doesn't allow datamining, so doesn't write hand histories for observed hands.

Since this is the case, why aren't these options grayed out in the Preferences menu?

Because the settings you refer to are not specific to PokerStars, but to all sites.

Well, there is an Import Observed Hands override, not yet implemented. I know that this isn't what you or OP were talking about, but it's probably a good idea to gray that one out eventually.
