Problem with importing

Postby PRO_rANDY » Mon May 05, 2008 6:42 pm

Had no problems with PT3, update to beta 10 and worked fine for a day then:

When trying to import hands the following message appears on the import screen:

2008/05/05 23:36:15: Unable to begin feeder import process. Reason: Unable to login to database (PT3_2008_05_02_171428). Reason: could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?

When trying to import hands the following message appears on the texas holdem tab where the players are normally listed:

Unable to login to database (PT3_2008_05_02_171428). Reason: could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the local server running on "localhost".

Any help getting it back working would be much appreciated.

Thanks, rANDY

Go to Start -> Programs -> Postgres -> Start service. Restart PT3 and try again.

Thanks for you for your help.

Unfortunately after following these steps the problem persisted.

i got it to work. on the tabs at top i created a new database. database/database management i clicked new and it made a new database. i then hit set default and set active. at this point nothing worked and took me awhile to see when you goto click on autoimport theres two boxes to the right under the preference tab. you have to change both boxes to your new database that was created, it will be in the scroll down. once u do this it reads again. good luck!

I ran into the same issue but was able to create the new database and was able to get PT3 to work. However, what's the easiest way to merge the hands from your old database? As a quick fix I moved the previously imported hands back to my Hand History folder where they import from and am uploading those 8k hands at the moment, but that would take a long time with a larger DB.

Any better suggestions? Thanks!

That is the fastest and easiest method right now. If we need to make a database change after the commercial release, we will provide an automatic conversion utility. :)

Unfortunately, there will be one more database modification prior to the commercial release...

Hello,

Please send me your last three PostgreSQL log files via the Support system so that I can look into the issue. Your PostgreSQL log files are located in your main PostgreSQL directory /8.3/data/pg_log.
