Hi this is trying to start up the trial version, i previously had beta installed and have purchased through paypal but not yet received registration number
Unable to login to database (PT3DB). Reason: could not connect to server:
Connection refused (0x0000274 etc)
Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?

Did you uninstall the beta version prior to installing this version?

Should I uninstall both the beta and recently downloaded version and start again?
no problem to do so.
Hey, thanks for the reply. The product looks good, I hope the first few days of teething problems and stupid questions (sorry!) don't drive you too crazy!

No, you don't need to uninstall - you should just install new versions over the top with PT3 not running.
Did you try rebooting?

seems that any time the application (PT3) crashes or is minimised this problem occurs and I need to restart the computer to use PT3 again.
