windows user account

Postby golem953 » Thu Jan 31, 2008 5:32 pm

I first installed the PT3 beta on my laptop with windows xp. First reboot after that my windows user account was gone somehow. Ok I thought weird but wasn't sure if this was due to PT3. Now today I installed PT3 on my other computer with windows vista and guess what... Again my windows user account is gone. All the maps are still there in my Users map but the account is nowhere to be found. On my laptop I thought it might be due to postgresql but this time I didnt even install that yet.

Is there anyone else with the same problem?

PT3 does nothing with user accounts, so I don't see how it could possibly be PT3's fault. Have you tried rebooting a second time?

weird I made a new user account copied everything from the old user account to the new account just as microsoft explains, and now the old account works again?!?! I guess the installation corruted some data in my user map or whatever.
I know it's a very weird problem but it's also very annoying!

Yes I tried restarting more times and the weird thing is the same happened on both my computers exactly in the same way and one of them has XP and one has vista. Weird I will try copying back the files again to the old user account and try to acces it again.

You can delete this post I think it's a problem with postgresql. I put in the same name as my windows user name in the box when installing postgresql so I advise you not to do the same.
Good luck with the coding of PT3. Im happy to see that it works much faster and it looks much nicer! Good job!
