i downloaded PT 3 yesterday and am now getting this error message when I try to open it...

Unable to create postgresSQL database: pt3 database
Reson unable to login to database(template 1)
reason: could not connect to server: connection refused (0x0000274d/10061) is the server running on host "localhost" and acceptingTCP/IP connections on port 5432

I have tried to start services via Programs -> Postgre 8.3 -> Start Services

There is no Service in Services and Applications to let me autostart the services either but there is a postgres user in Local Users and Groups.

Did you already have postgres installed before you installed PT3?
Or did you install "PT3 with postgres"?

Sounds like a problem with your postgres install.

I did install Postgres first...this connected fine the day I bought it, 3 days ago. I had an issue with queries not running though (divide by zero error, which I'm awaiting a response on too)

I've been trying to resolve this but cannot. I don't think my Port 5432 is open. I ran netstat -an in a command window and 5432 did not appear on the list

Hi WhiteRider,

You can scratch this issue. I reinstalled Postgres, ensured it was added as a service, and am now able to connect to it via PokerTracker. My other issue remains where all of the queries attempting to run in the stats windows are failing.

Can you please enable logging, reproduce the error, then attach the PokerTracker.log file to a support ticket and reference this thread? We will be able to figure out what is going on better once we can see the log file.
